Supro Dual Tone, held by John Van Horn, Sr. since 1968 in Chelmsford, MA

This Supro is mid-1958 with case and was aquired in private sale from the John Van Horn Family when John Van Horn Sr. passed away. His son, John Van Horn Jr. sold his fathers firebird and this guitar he said his father had in the attic forever. John Van Horn recorded his album "I've Got the Cure" with this guitar on some songs. On song featured on the album was "Rumble". The album was inspired by Mick Fleetwood encouraging John to record it when John found out he had terminal cancer. I believe John was with the Raymen with Link from about 63 to 68 when Link quit and threw his guitar at Milt, the manager. One blog entry said "Can you believe the way he treated his guitar". Link decided to go back to the farm, but as we all know music was in his blood and he performed until he passed away. It is believed that John picked up the guitar and held it for Link all those years, and had it professionally repaired, including a modern tailstop with allen screws for marking the angle for perfect intonation during complete dis-assembly, and placed it in the attic. John Jr. said he could not remember a time when the guitar was not in the attic, which means, all his life. I have the original package John Jr. provided with pictures of many of his fathers friends including Anton Fig, who plays on the David Letterman show, and is on the "I've Got the Cure" album, which was John Sr's last release. It includes pictures of John and Link posing in the same position for different PR shots, and playing a video game, possibly when Link lived at the Van Horn residence where Link shared his guitar style with Jr. for about one year. John Jr. formed a Link Wray tribute band and recently performed in Cleveland for a benefit as one of about 8 bands. They performed Link's songs.
